Summer is just around the corner and now is the time to prepare for glorious fun in the sun. So get your summer gear out of storage and check what might need replacing.

As summer approaches, dig out your swimwear and beach towels and give them a good wash. If your gear looks a bit faded or worn, the elastic has perished or you just like the idea of some new swimwear this year, why not head out to the many shops on the Northern Beaches to see all the latest styles available?
While you’re out shopping for that stunning new pair of swimmers, don’t forget the sunglasses and sunscreen.
To get yourself kitted out for summer, why not start at Budgy Smuggler, which has stores in both Manly and Bondi. This shop has a huge range of swimwear for the whole family with some bright and amusing styles. They even have swimwear for your family pet!
You’ll find another great store for swimwear, Baku, at Shop 43, The Corso in Manly. Apart from a gorgeous range of swimwear, they also have beautiful resort wear, sunglasses, hats, bags, and beach towels.
For gorgeous luxe linen beach towels, you can’t go past My Island Collective at Shop 28, Pittwater Place, Mona Vale. All of their luxury range of towels are designed locally and handmade by artisans in Europe and Southeast Asia.

Surfboards and paddle boards
Maybe this is the year to take up surfing or stand-up paddle boarding ‒ or maybe the kids are old enough this year to join you out on the water.

Snorkelling gear
You don’t have to head up to the Great Barrier Reef for some snorkelling fun. There are plenty of great places around the Northern Beaches where you can explore the amazing world that lies beneath the water.
Our favourite, Shelly Beach, Manly, is home to the Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve where you can see over 160 different species of fish.
